This autumn, we have tested both our navigation application, PING!, and our game concept, Echo Range, in Oulu City in Finland. The tests, it must be said, were both a great success.
With PING! we had set hidden targets for the test subjects to navigate to. They all managed this effortlessly using the application, which was caused great relief and joy among the development team. We then had a useful discussion with suggestions for improvements and alternative methods.
Echo Range proved to be strangely addictive, and caused the test groups, especially the older subjects who should have known better, to run around like kids on a recess. Despite some hicupps & minor technical hitches, we put the game through its paces, and gathered valuable, quality data for the project.
